Drilling Services
| Drilling & Grouting: | We specialise in the stabilisation of abandoned mine workings, allowing construction and development to take place on the consolidated ground. The process involves drilling boreholes in a grid formation across the site and injecting grout, usually consisting of a 10:1 P.F.A. : Cement mix, although each site is treated individually. Grouting works also consist of duct, tunnel & subway grouting, this can be achieved either by grouting from the surface or from one end to the other. |
| Soils Nailing: | Piletec Geotechnical are installers of Weldgrip, Dywidag and Ischcebeck Titan soil nails to stabilise and reinforce slopes, embankments, retaining walls & bridges. We generally install but are not limited to self drilled, driven, rotated, bored & grouted soil nails. |
| Ground Anchors: | Ground anchors can be used for many applications in a wide variety of ground conditions. Ground anchors can be used for applications such as rock face stabilisation, supporting bored piled walls, cofferdams and tie-backs to canal & river walls. Piletec Geotechnical are approved Platypus Anchor installers. |
| Geothermal: |
Geothermal heating is a relatively new technology which is one of the most efficient and environmentally friendly heating systems available. Geothermal energy is an unlimited resource which harnesses the inherent temperature within the Earth and converts it into an economic heating and cooling process.
Piletec Geotechnical offers an installation service for both open and closed loop systems. |
| Earthing Rods: | Working alongside the UK's leading electrical earthing companies we are experienced in drilling, installing & grouting in place earthing rods. We use a bentonite grout which is highly conductive, therefore lowering the resistance path to the ground. |
| Water Flush Drilling: | Piletec Geotechnical have adapted drilling rigs in our fleet to drill water flush, this is due to the presence of mine gases potentially spontaneously combusting when drilling. This technique is mostly implemented when drilling in residential or built up areas. |
